A Faulkner County man was killed after his motorcycle overturned in a single-vehicle crash Sunday, according to an Arkansas State Police report.

Michael Shane Smith, 46, of Damascus was driving a 2003 Harley Davidson motorcycle east on State Highway 225 at Wilson Bottom Road shortly after 10 a.m. Sunday when authorities say he lost control of the vehicle while applying the brakes on a curve.

“[The driver] was negotiating a left curve,” the report reads in part. “The driver of [the vehicle] applied the brakes and lost control of the motorcycle. [The vehicle] overturned on its left side and slid down Wilson Bottom Road.”

Smith was reported dead on scene, the report stated.
