Bridgeport, CT : 22-year-old man is in critical condition after he was hit by a speeding car on early Saturday August 9th 2014

Police in Bridgeport say a 22-year-old man is in critical condition after he was hit by a speeding car whose driver fled the scene. Police say the victim was crossing the street at the intersection of Park Avenue and Vine Street early Saturday. The pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries. Police say witnesses report seeing the car accelerating through the intersection as the traffic light changed. The driver applied the brakes after hitting the victim, and then fled the scene.
