Bethell, WA : Driver killed, passenger injurd when car strikes tree in Bothell on Wednesday, Nov 11, 2015

A man was killed and a woman was hurt Wednesday when a car struck a tree in Bothell just before 9 a.m.

Bothell police say a male driver was dead at the scene after his car struck the tree, in the 18600 block of 101st Avenue Northeast. A female passenger was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with injuries. Her condition was not immediately available.

“It’s unknown at this point if drugs or alcohol were involved or if it was a medical condition by the driver. It’s still early in the investigation,” said Bothell police Sgt. Cedric Collins.

Collins said that 101st Avenue Northeast from Northeast 185th Street to Northeast 186th Street is closed while police investigate.
