Miller County, AR : Man struck, killed by 18-wheeler after escaping burning vehicle on I-30 near Texarkana arly Saturday morning, March 19, 2016

A Shreveport man was killed early Saturday morning after being struck by an 18-wheeler on I-30.

According to Arkansas State Police's preliminary report, 56-year-old Sergio Garduno was traveling east on I-30 near Texarkana, Arkansas around midnight. when his vehicle caught fire.

That's when Garduno reportedly exited his vehicle and was struck by a 2005 freight-liner that was also traveling eastbound.

Police say Garduno was killed on impact.

According to the accident report, the roadway was wet and it was raining at the time of the crash.

The wreck remains under investigation.
