HYDETOWN, PA : 4 hurt in violent crash in Crawford County on Sunday, 21st October 2018

Four people were hurt in a one-vehicle crash in Troy Township, Crawford County, late Sunday afternoon.

State police at Corry said that the driver of a vehicle traveling west on Route 408 near Moss Grove Road lost control of the vehicle and drove off the road, striking a large tree. The vehicle came to rest on its side.

A front-seat passenger and one of two passengers in the back seat were able to pull themselves from the vehicle. The driver and another back-seat passenger were trapped in the vehicle and had to be removed by emergency workers.

Three of the victims were flown by helicopter to UPMC Hamot for treatment. The fourth was taken to Titusville Hospital.

The cause of the crash is under investigation. Police have not released the names of the people hurt in the crash.

The crash happened about 5:20 p.m.
