Center, TX :Drivers in fatal East Texas crash on US 96, about 10 miles south of Center on Monday afternoon, November 3, 2014
Authorities identified the drivers involved in a fatal East Texas crash Monday afternoon.
According to the Department of Public Safety, at 12:05 a.m., troopers were called to the a wreck on US 96, about 10 miles south of Center. Authorities determined a semi, driven by James Lee Fuller, 69, of Jacksonville, was headed south on 96 when a van headed in the opposite direction crossed the center of the road and collided head-on with the 18-wheeler.The van caught fire and burned.
The driver of the van was identified as Cory Dow Stovall, 44, of San Saba. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Larry Jones.
Both drivers were wearing a seatbelt. The crash remains under investigation.
