Sparks, NV : 62-year-old Woman struck and killed by car in Sparks on Thursday, September 18, 2014

The Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating the death of a 62-year-old Sparks woman who was hit by a car on East McCarran Boulevard near Prater Way. Trooper Dave Gibson said Friday that Maria Ramon Rivera-Depineda was walking outside of a marked crosswalk when she was struck by a 1998 black Ford Mustang just before 10 p.m. Thursday. Gibson says the car driver, 51-year-old Jesus Lopez Lemus of Sparks, is cooperating with investigators. He says neither drugs nor alcohol is believed to have played a role in the accident.
