Two rescued from San Jose early morning crash

Two people were rescued from a vehicle carrying three passengers that crashed into a tree in a neighborhood in the Alum Rock area of East San Jose early Sunday morning, fire officials said.

Firefighters responded to the collision in the 3400 block of Suncrest Avenue shortly after 1 a.m., according to fire officials.

Emergency crews used the Jaws of Life for 30 to 35 minutes to extricate the two people trapped in the vehicle, according to fire officials.
The three people who were inside the car sustained injuries that were not considered to be life threatening, fire officials said.

The collision is being investigated by the San Jose Police Department.
