Racine, WI : Two people died in double-fatal crash the 100 block of Main Street on Sunday, June 21, 2015

Police are investigating an auto accident in Racine that left two dead.

Raymond S. Schweissinger, 67, and James Peterson, 31, were driving northbound about 1:30 a.m. Sunday near the 100 block of Main Street when a vehicle heading southbound struck their car, killing them both, according to a release from the Racine Police Department.

The northbound car had a third passenger, who was taken to Wheaton Franciscan Hospital. Police have not released the passenger's name and the passenger's condition is unknown.

After the collision, the driver of the southbound vehicle fled on foot and was caught by a security officer. The driver of the southbound vehicle, as well as the passenger in the southbound vehicle, were also transported to Wheaton Franciscan.

The passenger of the southbound vehicle is being treated for injuries, but the extent of his injuries are not clear at this time.

Racine County District Attorney Richard Chiapete said police have not referred a case to him, as the crash is still under investigation.

Police have not named a suspect yet.
