WILLINGBORO, NJ : Child killed in Willingboro car crash near the Primrose Lane intersection on Tuesday, 8th January 2019

Authorities say a single-car crash here has left a 4-year-old child dead and another injured.

The crash on Beverly Rancocas Road in Willingboro occurred around 2 p.m. Tuesday near the Primrose Lane intersection.

Authorities said two 4-year-old boys and a man were in a vehicle that struck a tree. One child died at the scene, while the driver and the other child were being treated for injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

It’s not yet known what caused the driver to lose control of the car. Law enforcement officials said the preliminary investigation revealed that the vehicle, which was heading east toward Mount Holly, went off the roadway to the right into a wooded area and struck a tree.

Authorities are withholding the names of the children and the driver, and it’s not known if any of the three were related.

The Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office is investigating the accident.
