Phoenix, AZ : Car engulfed in flames after collision on I-17 at Indian School Road on Wednesday morning, Nov 18, 2015

A car caught on fire after a collision on southbound Interstate 17 at Indian School Road Wednesday morning.

Arizona Department of Public Safety officials said there was a multiple-vehicle collision in the HOV lane shortly after 6 a.m.

One of the vehicles was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived.

The driver was able to get out of the car, according to DPS.

Traffic was backed up for part of the morning rush hour.
