A Brooklyn truck driver has admitted he was under the influence when he crashed in New Jersey, killing one person and injuring three others.
Aleksander Isserovich on Thursday pleaded guilty to death by auto, assault by auto and driving under the influence of controlled substances in the September 2017 crash on Route 440 in Perth Amboy.
Authorities say the 39-year-old’s truck rear-ended a vehicle and sending it into another car, killing 45-year-old Jason Appio of Ocean Township. The tractor-trailer then jackknifed and hit two other vehicles.
Under terms of a plea agreement, Isserovich will be sentenced to 7 years in prison in May.
