Boulder, CO : Man driving commercial vehicle killed in Erie crash on Monday, July 11, 2016

A 64-year-old man was killed when the large commercial vehicle he was driving eastbound drove off Colo. 52, according to an Erie commander.

The highway between Weld County Road 5 and WCR 7 was closed briefly after the crash but was reopened later Monday.

Cmdr. Lee Mathis said the vehicle was the cab part of a semi, but without the trailer.

Erie police and Colorado State Patrol are investigating the scene.

The name and place of residence of the man was not released.
