North Platte,NE : One person has died in a three-vehicle crash at Interstate 80 On Saturday, June 25th, 2016

One person has died in a three-vehicle crash on Interstate 80 in western Nebraska that also saw workers cleaning up 1,500 gallons of spilled fuel.

The North Platte Telegraph reports (http://bit.ly/28UZkqe ) that the crash happened just before 2 p.m. Saturday near Hershey when the driver of an eastbound sport utility vehicle went onto the shoulder, overcorrected and

crossed the median.

The SUV then hit a westbound car, was vaulted into the air and then hit a cargo tanker, rupturing two back compartments and spilling 1,500 gallons of fuel.

The patrol says the driver of the westbound car was killed, and his wife in the passenger seat was injured.

The SUV driver also suffered serious injuries.

The names of those involved in the crash have not been released.
