Sunshine cause of car flipped driver says near Ball Ground,Georgia
A local teenager did not sustain any serious injuries after her vehicle flipped Sunday near Flat Bottom Trail in Ball Ground. The driver stated she was blinded by the sun,” Georgia State Patrol spokesman Gordy Wright said.
Tim Cavender, spokesman for Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services, said firefighters responded to the single-vehicle accident on Highway 372 just shortly before 6 p.m.
The 1999 Honda Accord apparently left the highway, became airborne and landed upside down.Wright identified the driver as 18-year-old Jessica Nicole Hieber of Ball Ground and said her vehicle was headed westbound on 372 before it struck a culvert and overturned.Cavender said a 911 caller indicated Hieber was possibly trapped in the car.“However, the 18-year-old female driver was able to crawl out of the vehicle,” Cavender said. “The driver was shaken, but did not appear to have any serious injuries.”
Cavender said she was later taken to WellStar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta to be evaluated.
Both lanes of Highway 372 were blocked until clean up was complete. There were no additional injuries and the cause of the accident is being investigated by the Georgia State Patrol, Cavender said.
