Des Moines,IA : Woman, young boy hurt in two-vehicle collision on Quail Avenue on July, Monday 3rd 2017
A woman and and a young boy suffered injuries in a two-vehicle collision on Quail Avenue Monday night, according to Iowa State Patrol crash reports.
The crash was reported at 8:02 p.m. at the intersection of Quail Avenue and Mill Road.
Michael Meinhardt, 29, of Fort Dodge was driving a gray van on Mill Road.
Meinhardt attempted to turn left from Mill Road onto Quail Avenue.
He reportedly pulled within the path of an oncoming blue car, the Iowa State Patrol reported.
Kelly Feaker, 36, of Rockwell City, was the driver of that car. She was traveling southbound.
Unable to stop in time, Feaker’s car hit the driver’s side door of the van driven by Meinhardt, according to the Iowa State Patrol.
Kelly Feaker and Kole Feaker, 11, were both transported to UnityPoint Health — Trinity Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
Meinhardt was cited for failure to obey a stop sign and yield right of way.
Meinhardt, Kelly Feaker, and Kole Feaker were all wearing seat belts, according to the Iowa State Patrol.
The Iowa State Patrol, Webster County Sheriff’s Department, UnityPoint Health — Trinity Regional Medical Center paramedics, Otho Volunteer Fire Department, and Fort Dodge Police Department responded.
