Toledo, OH : Bus and a car crash on Tuesday, August 15, 2017
A Toledo Area Regional Paratransit System bus and a car crashed head-on in central Toledo on Tuesday, killing the car’s driver and injuring the driver of the bus, authorities said.
Beverly Barrett, 55, of Toledo, was pronounced dead on arrival at University of Toledo Medical Center, the former Medical College of Ohio Hospital, at 3:07 p.m., according to Steve Kahle, a Lucas County coroner's investigator.
The crash occurred about 2:25 p.m.on North Fearing Boulevard near Hill Avenue, police said. The car went left of center and into the path of the oncoming bus. Toledo police said Ms. Barrett was traveling southbound on Fearing and the bus driver, Pamela McGarey, 46, of Toledo, was driving northbound.
Ms. McGarey was transported to Mercy Health St. Vincent Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries, police said.
No one else was injured, authorities said. There were two passengers on the bus, with no apparent injuries.
The crash remains under investigation
