Deer Park, OH : Car smashing into other parked vehicles ended in a fireball on early Sunday morning August 3rd 2014
An incident involving a car smashing into other parked vehicles ended in a fireball early Sunday morning on a quiet residential street and police have made an arrest after the man they say is responsible left the scene.
Using a cellphone camera at about 3 a.m. a witness on Hegner Street in Deer Park recorded the aftermath of a white Chrysler that lost control and hit cars lining the street off of Montgomery Road.
Roger Damron's home video shows the Chrysler finally stopping after it pushed a van into a nearby yard and struck the back of a Ford Taurus. That's when the Chrysler, Taurus and van all caught fire.
Deer Park fire crews showed up to the scene to douse the flames.
Deer Park police say no one was injured in the incident. A short while later, officers tracked down Christian Alexis Amezcua, 24, the registered owner of the Chrysler who police said fled the scene.
There was a language barrier when they tried to get details about the crash. Officials say Amezcua was also intoxicated.
He is charged with obstructing official business and is scheduled to be arraigned Monday at 9 a.m. in Hamilton County.
The early morning crash was the second spectacular crash to hit the Tri-State over the weekend where no one was injured.
A crash involving eight vehicles that closed the both decks of I-75 on the Brent Spence Bridge shut down that highway for three hours Saturday.
