Rapid City,SD : 4 kids, 1 adult killed in Pine Ridge wreck on July, Saturday 8th 2017
Four children and one adult were killed Saturday night in a single vehicle crash near Red Shirt on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, according to the FBI.
The FBI released a statement Monday identifying the nine individuals involved crash, including those who survived.
The driver, 19-year-old Wallace Little, survived along with three children. Wanda Siers, 66, was killed with four of her grandchildren.
According to Oglala Sioux Tribe Director of Emergency Management Steve Wilson, the crash occurred near Red Shirt Table Overlook, a popular tourist spot on BIA Highway 41. The minivan was traveling southbound around 10 p.m. when the driver lost control and rolled into the ditch.
Captain Andy Lipp from the Rapid City Fire Department said several RCFD ambulances responded to the scene, but did not give any more information.
Red Shirt, in Oglala Lakota County, is a small community on the northwestern edge of the Pine Ridge reservation.
