Leitchfield, KY : Five people were injured in a two-vehicle crash at Falls of Rough On Friday, June 24th, 2016

A two-vehicle crash in Falls of Rough sent five people to the hospital with injuries Friday evening, June 17.

At approximately 5:48 p.m. on Friday, the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO), Grayson County Emergency Medical Services (GCEMS), and the Falls of Rough Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene of the crash at the intersection

of Green Farms Road and Falls of Rough Road.

Upon arrival, responding GCSO Deputy Jarrod Mudd discovered a 2002 Ford Explorer, driven by Adina Mudd, 18, of Fairdale, KY, was overturned on its top off the roadway facing northeast.

In a GCSO accident report, Jarrod Mudd writes that upon his arrival on the scene, he found Adina Mudd and her two passengers, Hannah Tompson, 16, of Shepherdsville, KY, and Hayley Dillman, 19, of Fairdale, KY, all sitting or lying next to the

Ford and being attended to by first responders.

When Jarrod Mudd found the second vehicle involved, a 2000 Lexus RX300, driven by Richard Embry, 65, of Leitchfield, it was sitting in the roadway of Falls of Rough Road, and Richard Embry’s passenger, Joyce Embry, 64, of Leitchfield, was still

seated in the passenger seat.

Richard Embry was out of the Lexus and walking around, according to the report.

Jarrod Mudd reported that all passengers involved complained of pain, and some had lacerations, contusions, and visual swelling. GCEMS assisted the injured on the scene before transporting all five of them to Twin Lakes Regional Medical

Center for treatment.

A witness, who told Jarrod Mudd he had been behind the Ford prior to the crash, stated that he and the Ford were on Green Farms Road approaching the intersection when he noticed the Ford’s brake lights come on.

The witness stated that while he could not advise whether the Ford came to a complete stop, he did see that the vehicle pulled across the intersection in front of the Lexus, causing the collision.

The Ford had been travelling toward Blue Bird Road, and the Lexus had been travelling northbound on Falls of Rough Road.

Following the collision, the Ford also struck and destroyed a stop sign near where it came to a rest on its top, according to the accident report.

Both vehicles were disabled as a result of the crash. The Ford was towed from the scene by King’s Wrecker Service, and the Lexus was towed from the scene by Stevensons Wrecker Service.
