Icy conditions caused eight separate car crashes on Interstate 68 in Western Maryland on Monday afternoon, according to Maryland State Police.
The collisions, which involved 15 cars in all, occurred in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 68 near the Allegany/Garrett county line near Frostburg, police said.
One person was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
The crashes led troopers to close the highway for several hours. The Maryland State Highway Administration treated the icy roadway
