CANEY, KS : 3 killed in head-on crash in Kansas at the junction of routes 75 and 166 in Montgomery County on Tuesday, 12th March 2019

A former Kansas lawmaker and two other women have been killed in a head-on crash in the southeast part of the state.

The accident happened just before 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at the junction of routes 75 and 166 in Montgomery County. The Kansas Highway Patrol says a northbound Ford Expedition crossed the center line and hit a Jeep Grand Cherokee.

The patrol says the driver of the Jeep, 85-year-old Patricia Chalfant, and her two passengers, 85-year-old Mary Compton and 82-year-old Wilma Rowden died at the scene.

The 32-year-old Tulsa man driving the Ford, Casey Andrews, was hospitalized in Oklahoma with potentially serious injuries.
