Irvine, CA : Irvine police crash: Officer taken to hospital, crash probed

Investigators are looking into what caused a violent crash that landed one Irvine police officer in the hospital.

The crash happened Friday night at the intersection of Harvard Avenue and Paseo Westpark. The officer was on patrol when his vehicle was struck by an oncoming car.

He was taken to the hospital. His injuries aren't life threatening, police said.
