HAVERHILL, MA : Motorcycle crash closes part of River Street near 449 River Street on Thursday, 16th August 2018

A car-versus-motorcycle accident that severely injured a man closed a portion of River Street Thursday afternoon, police said.

The street was closed to through traffic while state and local police reconstructed and investigated the crash, but the street has reopened.

The car and motorcycle collided near 449 River St., near the Moody School, shortly after noon, Capt. Robert Pistone said in a statement. The motorcycle operator, who has not been identified, was taken to Lawrence General Hospital with serious injuries.
