Northwest Lubbock, TX : 2 killed in tractor-trailer vs. car crash in Northwest Lubbock on Friday, 15th February 2019

A deadly two-vehicle collision early Friday morning shut down a portion of Clovis Highway for most of the day.

Lubbock police responded about 3 a.m. to investigate a collision between a passenger car and a tractor-trailer pulling two trailers near the intersection of North Slide Road and Clovis Highway, said Lubbock police spokeswoman Tiffany Taylor.

She said the car’s driver and passenger died at the scene. Police officials are working on identifying the two men -- who were the only people in the car -- to contact family members.

The driver of the tractor-trailer suffered minor injuries and was taken by private vehicle to the hospital.

Investigators are still looking into the cause of the crash.
