Ventura County, CA : Cody Hoffman, 20, killed in a Simi Valley crash on Monday, March 28, 2016

Authorities Monday identified a man killed in a Simi Valley crash.

The crash was reported about 10:10 a.m. along the westbound side of the Highway 118 east of the Sycamore Drive exit, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Cody Hoffman, 20, of Simi Valley, was declared dead at the scene.

Hoffman apparently lost control of his vehicle, went off the roadway and crashed into a tree, the highway patrol indicated. The Ventura County Fire Department also responded to the crash, which remains under investigation.
