SCOTT COUNTY, MO : 1 airlifted, 2 seriously injured in crash on I-55 on Saturday, 18th May 2024

Three people from Sikeston were seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash Saturday night in Scott County, Missouri.

It happened just before 9:30 p.m. on May 18.

According to the Mo. State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred near the 69.6-mile marker in the southbound lanes of Interstate 55. 74-year-old Roy R. Pierce was driving a 2016 Buick northbound in the southbound lanes when he struck a 2019 Nissan Altima.

MSHP reports that the driver of the Altima, 22-year-old Holli R. Yi, and a passenger, 18-year-old Brannon C. Yi, were taken to St. Francis Hospital in Cape Girardeau for serious injuries.
