Two-vehicle crash injures one on Illinois 96

One man was injured after his truck collided with a semi trailer Thursday morning on Illinois 96 shortly before 9 a.m.

63-year-old Jeffrey Snyder of Plainville was taken to Hannibal Regional Hospital with moderate injuries.

According to a release from the Illinois State Police, Snyder was driving southbound on Illinois 96 when he crashed into the trailer of a semi-truck driven by 76-year-old Donald Powers of Durham, MO.

Powers was driving northbound on Illinois 96 when he attempted to turn left onto the westbound on-ramp to Interstate 72. He did not see Snyder approaching in the other lane.

Snyder collided with the trailer, causing major front end damage to his truck. The trailer sustained minor damage.

The Illinois State Police issued Powers a citation for failure to yield.
