Vinita, OK : A Bartlesville woman was killed after her vehicle collided with a pickup truck at U.S. 60 On Thursday, May 19th, 2016
Wanda Bennett, 56, was driving a 2005 Ford that was heading east on U.S. 60 when a westbound 2004 Ford F-350 pickup turned left in front of her, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.
The driver of the pickup, Robert Smith, 87, of Grove, was trying to make a left turn onto Oklahoma 82, about 4 miles east of Vinita, and his pickup collided with the oncoming Ford, according to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol report.
Bennett was pinned in the wreckage for about 10 minutes and was pronounced dead at the scene, the OHP reported.
A passenger in the Ford, Ruby Zilinski, 78, also of Bartlesville, was admitted in good condition to Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa, according to the report.
Smith was taken to a Joplin hospital, where he was treated and released, the report states.
The cause of the collision was attributed to failure to yield. Everyone involved in the collision was wearing a seat belt, according to the report.
