Winnsboro, TX : man killed in rollover crash near Winnsboro on Saturday, October 15, 2016

One person was killed Saturday in a rollover wreck near Winnsboro.

Corey Gibson, 24, of Como, died in the Saturday crash, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

A preliminary crash investigation shows Gibson was driving a 2006 Nissan Quest, traveling east on Highway 11, about half a mile west of Winnsboro, when he crossed a railroad track at an unsafe speed causing his vehicle to veer into a ditch and roll over.

Gibson's vehicle then struck a billboard and caught on fire.

He was pronounced dead at the scene by a justice of the peace and his body was taken to a funeral home in Winnsboro.
