Selma man dies in car crash
A crash just outside of Selma turned fatal for one Selma man on Friday afternoon.
Alabama State Troopers are still investigating what led to a single-vehicle crash, that occurred Friday at around 4:30 p.m.
James Earl Stratman, 52, was traveling on Alabama Highway 21, one mile south of Selma when he ran off of the road and struck a utility pole. He was driving a 1986 Chevrolet S-10.
Officers say Stratman was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Although the crash is still under investigation, Alabama State Troopers say alcohol was a factor,” State Trooper Curtis Summerville said in a release Friday.
