ALBEMARLE COUNTY, VA : Two Virginia State Police troopers injured in crash following vehicle pursuit on Friday, 6th September 2024

Two Virginia State Police troopers were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries after a vehicle pursuit ended in a crash Friday, September 6.

Virginia State Police attempted to stop an individual along Interstate 81 northbound in Augusta County for a criminal violation. The driver refused to stop, which led to a police pursuit, according to Virginia State Police.

Albemarle County Police assisted with the pursuit after the driver entered Interstate 64 eastbound in Albemarle County, according to Virginia State Police.

Spike strips were placed on the road in an attempt to stop the vehicle, according to police.
