The driver of a Mustang died after her car was hit by a truck in a possible DWI crash in Johnston County on Tuesday afternoon, officials said.
The incident happened along Old Fairground Road near Selma around 2:24 pm., according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.The wreck happened when a Toyota Tacoma truck, which was pulling a trailer, crossed the centerline on Old Fairgrounds Road, troopers said.
The driver of a Ford Mustang, Tiffany Burnette, 44, of Angier, was heading the opposite direction and was killed when the truck collided with her car, officials said.
The truck driver, Ronald Holland, 44, of Angier, is charged with DWI and driving left of center, the N.C. Highway Patrol said in a news release.
“Investigators are consulting with the Johnston County District Attorney office reference pending charges” against Holland, the news release said.
