Cambridge, OH : A two-vehicle accident on South Ninth Street in Cambridge on February, Monday 5th 2018
A Senecaville woman remained in “stable” condition at Southeastern Med following a two-vehicle accident Monday on South Ninth Street in Cambridge.
Rebecca J. Wyckoff, 50, was transported to the Cambridge hospital by United Ambulance following the accident at 10:57 a.m. She reportedly suffered incapacitating injuries in the accident, according to a Cambridge police report.
The driver of the other vehicle reported Wyckoff appeared to be “slumped over” behind the steering wheel just before the two vehicles collided. It was not known as of press time if Wyckoff suffered a medical episode that may have contributed to the accident.
According to police, 2010 Kia driven by Wyckoff was southbound on South Ninth Street when the vehicle struck a northbound 1995 Dodge 1500 driven by Lloyd R. Thompson, 71, of Cambridge. Thompson was not injured, according to police.
The Kia suffered moderate damage while minor damage was reported to the Dodge truck.
No additional information was available as of press time today.
The accident was one of four investigated by Cambridge police Monday. The others occurred on Wheeling Avenue and Southgate Parkway.
At 10:30 a.m., officers responded to a two-vehicle accident in the 500 block of Wheeling Avenue at the intersection of North Fifth Street.
According to police reports, a 2011 Chevrolet driven by Mathew A. Scott, 43, Byesville, was traveling west on Wheeling Avenue when it struck a southbound 2014 Ford driven by Beth A. Hughes, 53, Cambridge, in the intersection with North Fifth Street.
Both drivers reported having a green light at the time of the accident.
Hughes was treated at the scene by United Ambulance personnel after reporting possible minor injuries. She reported to police her side hurt after her vehicle was struck in the driver’s side door.
