Covington Township, PA : Multi-vehicle crash shuts down 380 on Friday, 19th October 2018
A multi-vehicle crash shut down Route 380 between exits 13 (Gouldsboro) and 20 (Moscow) on Friday, Oct. 19, 2018.
A crash in the northbound lane of 380 in Covington Township involving four tractor trailers and three passenger vehicles was reported with injuries at around 2 p.m. Friday by state police from the Dunmore Barracks. The seven vehicles were following one behind the other in the area of mile marker 15.4 when a tractor trailer driven by Nihal Gill of Ontario collided with a tractor trailer driven by Grzegorz Gardocki of Blakeslee. Gardocki’s freightliner then proceeded to strike a Honda CRV driven by Gina Bellersen of Inkerman, Luzerne County. Gardocki also struck a third tractor trailer driven by Juan Juan-Zacarias of East Orange, N.J., which caused Juan-Zacarias to collide with a Honda Civi driven by Franklin Halprin of Edison, N.J., and a Honda Fit driven by Maureen Nemshick of Sayreville, N.J. The Honda Fit driven by Nemshick then struck a Kenworth truck driven by Johan Cabrera-Polanco of Clifton, N.J.
Bellersen was taken to Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton for severe injuries.
All motorists involved were wearing seat belts, state police said in a press release at 10:41 p.m. Friday.
