FREEPORT, NY : Crash on Long Island leaves 1 dead, 2 drivers hurt on Wednesday, 2nd November 2016
Police say a woman has been killed and two men are injured after in a two-car crash on Long Island.
Nassau County police say a 45-year-old Hempstead man was driving in Freeport on Wednesday night when he smashed into a vehicle driven by a 24-year-old man.
Police say a 33-year-old woman who was a passenger in the first car was declared dead at a hospital. The driver of that car was hospitalized with a leg injury. Police say charges are pending against him.
The driver of the second vehicle was hospitalized with injuries that aren’t considered life-threatening.
No one has been publicly identified.
Both vehicles have been impounded for brake and safety inspections.
An investigation is ongoing.
