Cedar Rapids, IA : Police officer has been injured in a traffic crash on Sunday afternoon August 31st 2014

A Cedar Rapids police officer has been injured in a traffic crash. A Police Department news release says the accident occurred a little before 2:45 p.m. Sunday on Blairs Ferry Road Northeast. The department says the officer was headed east to a report of a domestic assault when his vehicle collided with a westbound minivan that was in the central turn lane. Police say the officer and the minivan driver have been treated at a hospital for minor injuries. The Iowa State Patrol is investigating the accident. Source : Police officer injured in collision
