NATCHITOCHES, LA : Bicyclist found dead following hit and run in Natchitoches on Tuesday, 30th July 2024

Natchitoches Police investigate a fatal hit-and-run involving a bicyclist on South Drive.

On July 30, the Natchitoches Police Department (NPD) responded to a fatal hit-and-run crash on the 800 block of South Drive. Upon arrival, officers discovered an unknown vehicle was traveling southbound on South Drive near Glass Street when it struck a pedestrian riding on a bicycle.

Johnny Ray Simmons, the victim, was pronounced dead by the Natchitoches Parish Coroner’s Office as a result of his injuries.

The crash is under investigation. Updates to come as more information becomes available.
