Bad crash shuts down east near Louisiana

Louisiana State Police say that Interstate 10 eastbound is blocked near Exit 187. Traffic is being diverted on to Highway 61.

Police say a car traveling westbound on I-10 crossed the center line, then crossed the median. It hit another vehicle head-on. Authorities say the driver of the westbound car may have fallen asleep at the wheel, but that has not been confirmed. A witness tells News 2 that the female driver of the westbound vehicle is stuck, and authorities are preparing to cut her out of the car.
