MERIDIAN TWP, MI : Police ID Lansing man killed in Meridian Twp. crash on Saturday, 22nd February, 2020

Police have released the identity of the Lansing man killed in a three-vehicle crash over the weekend.

Ronald Spitzley, 53, was killed and several others seriously injured in the crash, Meridian Township Lt. Rick Grillo said in a news release.

Police were sent to the scene of the crash at Mt. Hope Road and Comanche Drive in Meridian Township at 2:43 p.m. Saturday.

The crash occurred when a vehicle driving eastbound on Mt. Hope Road lost control and drove into oncoming traffic, striking two other vehicles, Grillo said.

It was not clear which vehicle Spitzley was in or if he was driving. Grillo did not respond to a request for further comment.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash.
