LITCHFIELD, CT : SUV crashes into utility pole in Litchfield on Saturday, 21st March, 2020

Route 202 is closed at Fern Avenue after an SUV crashed into a utility pole shortly after 11:30 a.m. Saturday, according to the state Department of Transportation.

Citizens directed traffic around the crash until emergency responders arrived. It was not immediately clear if the driver was injured.

The utility pole snapped and left tangled wires and debris across the road.

Eversource reported 366 customers in Litchfield were without power at 12:05 p.m. Eversource said it expected power to be restored by 2 p.m.

The DOT did not have an estimate of when the road would reopen.
