Colorado Springs, CO : One person injured after a serious crash on Highway 24 and 26th Street on Sunday morning, August 7, 2016

Colorado Springs police say one person is in the hospital after a serious crash on Highway 24 and 26th Street in Colorado Springs.

The crash happened around 1 a.m. Sunday morning. Police say one vehicle turned left in front of another. The driver was trapped in the car from the impact. The highway was closed for one-and-a-half hours while authorities worked to extract the driver and take the driver to the hospital where they are currently recovering.

Police do suspect alcohol to be a factor in the crash.
