Three people were injured in a two-vehicle accident in rural Fayette County on Sunday.

The names and conditions weren’t available, but the Iowa State Patrol said all three were taken to Mercy Hospital in Oelwein.

The crash happened at about 2:40 p.m. on County Road W33 north of Highway 3 when a northbound 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee apparently lost control and crossed the center line. It collided with a southbound 2018 Chevrolet Traverse.

The crash remains under investigation.

The State Patrol was assisted by the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, Oelwein Fire Rescue and Mercy Ambulance.
