Dodge County, WI :3 injured in Sunday crash on Sunday, July 5th 2015
The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash at 3:54 p.m. Sunday in the southbound lanes of U.S. Highway 151, near Salem Road in the Township of Calamus.Police said Amy Galica, 33, of Oshkosh, was driving north on U.S. Highway 151 when her vehicle went into a counter-clockwise spin, slid through the median and into the southbound traffic lanes. Galica's vehicle collided with a vehicle driven by Timothy Mcessey, 30, of Middleton, in the southbound lanes of U.S. 151 Highway, in the left, inside lane.The impact of the crash caused Galica's vehicle to split apart. A 3-year-old in a car seat was thrown from the vehicle.Mcessey was transported to Columbus Hospital for treatment of his injuries. Galica sustained severe injuries and was flown from the scene by a Flight for Life helicopter to the University of Wisconsin-Madison Hospital. The child was transported by Beaver Dam Paramedics to Children’s Hospital in Madison.Southbound traffic on the highway was closed for almost three hours while the crash was investigated.Assisting agencies at the scene include Beaver Dam police, Wisconsin State Patrol, Beaver Dam Fire Department, Beaver Dam EMS, Lifestar Ambulance, Flight for Life helicopter and the Dodge County Emergency Response Team.The crash remains under investigation by the Dodge County Crash Investigation Team.
