Glasgow, KY : A Tennessee man died in a crash on Monday, June 12, 2017
A Tennessee man died in a crash that occurred around 4 p.m. Sunday in the northbound lane of Interstate 65 near the 50 mile marker.
The crash happened when Dale Covington, 60, of Cross Plains, Tennessee, who was traveling north in a 2007 Chevrolet pickup, went off the right side of the road for an unknown reason, said a Kentucky State Police press release.
Covington's truck then struck a guardrail end and overturned, coming to final rest against a sign post. Covington was pronounced dead at the scene by the Barren County Coroner's Office. He was not wearing a seat belt, said the press release.
Trooper Jonathan Johnson is leading the investigation. He was assisted at the scene by firefighters with the Cave City Volunteer Fire Department, the Barren-Metcalfe County Emergency Medical Service and the Barren County Coroner's Office, the press release said.
