Taunton man killed in single-car crash - Boston

A 21-year-old Taunton man was killed Saturday morning after his car struck a fire hydrant and a tree near 160 Williams St., police said.
The driver was identified as Nicholas Mota, son of Taunton Fire Department lieutenant, Nelson Mota.According to police, Nicholas Mota was traveling north on Williams Street when he struck the hydrant at approximately 1:21 a.m. Police said the car then veered off the road and hit a tree.Mota, the sole occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the the scene.
