VELVA, ND : California man identified in fatal crash near Velva on Tuesday, 18th December 2018

A 24-year-old California man has been identified as the victim of a fatal crash about 4 miles south of Velva.

Bryce Belden of San Bernadino was driving a 2007 Dodge Dakota east on Highway 23 just before 10:15 a.m., the North Dakota Highway Patrol said, when he drove through the crossing at Highway 41. His vehicle passed onto a minimum maintenance road and went off the right shoulder of the roadway, through a fence and rolled several times in a cattle pasture.Belden was not wearing a seat belt, the patrol said.

Velva is about 20 miles southeast of Minot.
