A grisly head-on crash on Cape Cod has left two people dead and another victim fighting for her life.
Barnstable police said they were called to a head-on collision on Route 28 in Cotuit around midnight Saturday near the Mashpee town line.A preliminary investigation indicates a Toyota sedan driven by a 22-year-old Fall River man was traveling east on the road when it crashed head-on with an SUV traveling in the opposite direction. That vehicle was being driven by a 32-year-old Mashpee man.
Firefighters said when they arrived on scene, they found the Toyota on fire and split in two. The driver and a passenger, a 24-year-old woman from New Bedford, were ejected from the vehicle as a result of the crash.
