Norman, OK : Ada man dies in a motorcycle wreck west of Ada city limits on Friday night, November 4, 2016
An Ada man died Friday night from injuries he received in a motorcycle wreck.
The wreck occurred at 8:30 p.m. on Sandy Creek Drive just west of Ada city limits, according to Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Wil Hayden.
Hayden said 49-year-old Levi Troyer of Stonewall was riding a 2005 Yamaha motorcycle west on Sandy Creek Drive when he ran off the road on a curve and hit a tree.
Troyer and a passenger, 60-year-old Roger L. Scott of Ada, were thrown from the motorcycle during the crash.
Scott was taken by Mercy EMS to Mercy Hospital Ada where he was pronounced dead from head, trunk internal, trunk external, arm and leg injuries. His body was taken to Smith-Phillips Funeral Home in Ada.
Troyer was taken by Air Evac Lifeteam to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City and admitted in serious condition with head, trunk internal, arm and leg injuries.
Hayden said the cause of the crash is under investigation and helmets were not in use.
Ada firefighters and Pontotoc County sheriff’s deputies also responded.
