Newport News, VA : A man died after a motorcycle crash on Thursday, September 7, 2017

A man died after a motorcycle crash in the 100 block of Miami Road in Virginia Beach on Thursday, officials said.

Dispatch received a call about the accident in the Arrowhead section of Virginia Beach about 2:43 p.m., according to a police news release. People reported that a motorcyclist crashed into a dumpster and was unconscious, the release said. First responders found a deceased adult male, the release said.

The 100 block of Miami Road will be closed for a few hours, and is expected to be reopened by 5 p.m., the release said. The department’s Fatal Crash Team is investigating the accident.
